DORCAS FIREPROOF STRIKE LOCK SERIES
Dorcas fireproof (fire-rated) strikes are specifically engineered to maintain the positive latching of a fire door during a fire, preventing the door from warping or opening due to heat and pressure. They are certified under European standards EN 1634-1 and EN 14846.
- Serie 52 (The Fire-Rated Standard)
The Serie 52 is the most common Dorcas model for fire-rated applications. It is a direct fire-safe upgrade to the standard Serie 45/54 dimensions.
- Serie SF100 (High-Traffic Fire Protection)
The SF100 is designed for heavy-duty commercial fire doors (e.g., hospital corridors, shopping malls).
SERIE 52
The Dorcas Serie 52 is the industry standard for fire-rated applications, specifically engineered to withstand extreme heat while maintaining high security. It is essentially a reinforced version of the universal 45/54 series.
Its certification under EN 1634-1 and EN 14846. It is rated for 120 minutes of fire resistance, meaning it will keep a fire door positively latched for two hours during a blaze to prevent the spread of smoke and flames.
To handle the pressure of heavy fire doors and potential forced entry, it offers a holding force of 1,000 kg (9,800 N)
SF91 SERIES
The Dorcas SF91 Series is a specialized line of fire-rated electric strikes specifically engineered for the Nordic market. These strikes are designed to fit Scandinavian door profiles and comply with rigorous European fire safety certifications.
Fire Certification: Certified for 120 minutes (EI 120) of fire resistance under the EN 1634-1 standard, ensuring the door remains latched to contain fire and smoke.
Fail Secure Operation: the SF91 is typically Fail Secure (Normal Function). This ensures that if power is lost during a fire, the strike remains locked to keep the fire door shut.
SF99 SERIES
The Dorcas SF99 Series is a high-security, fire-rated electric strike that combines the compact, ultra-slim design of the standard 99 series with specialized materials for fire safety. It is specifically designed to keep fire doors latched during emergencies to contain heat and smoke.
Fire Resistance (EI 120): Certified according to European standard EN 1634-1 with a fire resistance class of 120 minutes.
High Breaking Resistance: Engineered for extreme security with a breakage resistance of approximately 7,845 N (~800 kg) and Universally Reversible
SF100 SERIES
The Dorcas SF100 Series is a high-performance fire-rated electric strike that integrates advanced DST (Dynamic Sense Technology). It is specifically designed for fire doors where high security and reliability under preload are critical requirements
Fire Certification: Certified for 120 minutes (EI 120) of fire resistance under European standard EN 1634-1.
DST Technology: Features innovative technology that allows for a guaranteed opening even with a preload of up to 20kg.
Engineered for security with a breaking resistance of 3,300 N
- Serie 52 (The Fire-Rated Standard)
The Serie 52 is the most common Dorcas model for fire-rated applications. It is a direct fire-safe upgrade to the standard Serie 45/54 dimensions.
- Fire Rating: Certified for 120 minutes (EI 120) of fire resistance.
- Strength: Breaking resistance of 1,000 kg (9,800 N).
- Design: Symmetrical and reversible for left- or right-hand doors.
- Materials: Built with high-melting-point materials that won’t fail under extreme thermal stress.
- Serie SF100 (High-Traffic Fire Protection)
The SF100 is designed for heavy-duty commercial fire doors (e.g., hospital corridors, shopping malls).
- Durability: Tested for higher cycle counts than the 52 series.
- Fire Rating: 120 minutes (EI 120).
- Standard Compliance: Fully compliant with EN 14846 for building hardware in fire/smoke-control doors.
- Critical Safety Rule: Fail Secure
By law and safety standards, all Dorcas fire-rated strikes are Fail Secure (Normal Function).
- Why: In a fire, if power is cut, the door must remain latched to contain the fire.
- Note: Using a “Fail Safe” (unlocked without power) strike on a fire door is generally prohibited as it would allow the door to swing open, spreading smoke and flames.
