DORCAS WEATHERPROOF STRIKE LOCK SERIES
For extreme outdoor conditions, Dorcas offers two primary “weatherproof” solutions. The main difference between them is the level of water protection (IP rating) and the size of the frame.
- SW99 Series (Waterproof – IP65)
The SW99 is the most popular choice for outdoor gates because it combines a slim profile with high weather resistance.
- Series 41 (High Protection – IP54)
The Serie 41 is a more robust, larger strike often used for heavy external industrial or commercial doors.
- SW99-SS (Maximum Security & Weatherproof)
If you need both waterproofing and high strength, the SW99-SS variant is available.
SW99 SERIES
The Dorcas SW99 Series is the specialized waterproof version of the ultra-slim 99 Series. It is specifically designed for outdoor gates and perimeter entrances exposed to rain and humidity
IP65 Waterproof Rating: The internal electronic coil and mechanical components are fully sealed to prevent water ingress and corrosion from rain or dust
Multi-Voltage Capability: Typically supports a wide range of 10V to 24V AC/DC, making it compatible with almost any outdoor intercom, keypad, or video doorbell
SERIE 62
The Dorcas Serie 62 is a specialized line of waterproof electric strikes designed specifically for outdoor environments. It is characterized by its high resistance to moisture and robust mechanical build, making it a standard choice for garden gates and perimeter entrances.
IP65 Waterproof Rating: The series features a watertight seal and an internal partition that prevents the penetration of water and dust into the electronic components.
Built for security, it can withstand forces up to 4,000 N
SERIE 41
The Dorcas Serie 41 is a slim, symmetrical electric strike designed for flush-mounted installation in narrow European profiles, particularly aluminum and PVC doors. It is often used in commercial buildings and high-traffic areas due to its space-saving design and durability.
Ultra-Slim Design: Features a narrow body width of 16 mm or 16.5 mm and a height of only 66 mm, making it one of the smallest standard strikes available
Breaking Resistance: Provides a holding force of 2,950 N (approximately 300 kg).
SERIE 50
The Dorcas Serie 50 is the reinforced “heavy-duty” version of their standard electric strikes. While it shares the same 75mm height as the popular Serie 45, it is significantly stronger due to its steel latch construction.
Reinforced Steel Latch: The latch is made of high-quality steel rather than standard alloy, making it suitable for heavy doors or high-traffic commercial areas.
Adjustable Jaw (Flex): Features a +4 mm adjustment path, allowing you to fine-tune the strike’s position to ensure a tight, rattle-free fit with the door
For Dorcas electric strikes, the IP (Ingress Protection) rating indicates how well the unit is sealed against water and dust. Most standard indoor strikes do not have an official IP rating, but the specialized outdoor series do:
- IP65 (Waterproof)
This is the highest standard rating in the Dorcas catalog for heavy outdoor use. It is dust-tight and protected against water jets (heavy rain).
- Series: SW99, Serie 62, and Serie 41 IP65.
- Best For: Perimeter garden gates, villa entrances, and any location fully exposed to the elements.
- IP54 (Weather Resistant)
These units are protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction.
- Series: Serie 41 (Standard weather-resistant version) and Serie 50 IP54.
- Best For: External doors under a porch or overhang, and industrial environments where dust or light moisture is present.
- IP68 (Submersible – Special Order)
While rare, some specialized versions of the SW99-SS can be requested with IP68 sealing.
