PANIC BAR STRIKE LOCK SERIES
For evacuation routes and emergency exits, Dorcas provides specialized electric strikes designed to comply with European safety standards (EN 13637 and EN 14846). The primary goal is to ensure that doors release instantly under pressure or during a power failure to allow safe passage.
In many jurisdictions (including the UAE under Civil Defence codes), an electric strike on an evacuation route must often be paired with a Green Break Glass unit and a Panic Bar (EN 1125) to ensure a mechanical exit is always possible regardless of the electronics.
SERIE 77
The Dorcas Serie 77 is a high-performance electric strike specifically designed for evacuation routes and emergency exits. Its primary innovation is its ability to release consistently under significant physical pressure, ensuring a safe exit even if people are leaning against the door during a panic.
Emergency Preload Release: This series is engineered to unlock even when a preload of up to 450 kg is applied to the door.
Certified Safety: It complies with major European safety standards for evacuation systems, including UNE-EN 13637, EltVTR, and NFS 61937. Robust Strength: Despite its evacuation focus, it provides a high static breaking resistance of 7,450 N
SERIE 777
The Dorcas Serie 777 is an advanced evolution of the 77 series, specifically optimized for evacuation routes and emergency exits. It is designed to provide ultra-reliable release under high-pressure conditions while incorporating modern installation features.
Emergency Preload Release: Like the 77 series, it is capable of unlocking even when a heavy preload of up to 450 kg is applied to the door leaf.
Model 305: Provides a single status signal to monitor if the door is open or closed.
Model 325: Offers a double status signal, monitoring both the door position and the locking state of the strike itself
SERIE 81
The Dorcas Serie 81 is a specialized surface-mounted electric strike designed specifically for use with European panic bars on evacuation routes. Its unique concave latch design allows it to work seamlessly with both curved and non-curved latches from almost any panic bar on the market.
Panic Bar Compatibility: Specifically engineered with a concave latch to accommodate the latching mechanism of European panic exit devices.Multi-Voltage (AC/DC): 10V to 24V AC/DC.
High Breaking Resistance: Offers a standard retention force of 2,950 N (~300 kg), with a reinforced version available that can withstand up to 5,900 N (~600 kg).
SERIE 82
The Dorcas Serie 82 is a surface-mounted, reversible electric strike purpose-built for evacuation routes. It shares a similar design language to the Serie 81 but is specifically optimized for use with European panic bars, featuring a specialized latch system to ensure reliable release during emergency exits.
Surface-Mounted & Reversible: Designed for easy installation directly onto the door frame with a non-handed design that fits both left and right-hand doors.
Preload Opening Capacity: As part of the Dorcas evacuation line, it is designed to release even when pressure (preload) is applied to the door by people pushing against it.
- Fail-Safe Operation (Inverted): Unlike standard security strikes, evacuation models are typically Fail-Safe. This means the door automatically unlocks when power is cut, ensuring people aren’t trapped if the fire alarm triggers or the building loses power.
- High Pre-Load Opening: During an evacuation, people often push against the door before it is electronically released. Dorcas evacuation strikes (like the Series 100/SF100) are engineered to open even under pre-loads of up to 20kg (200N), preventing the latch from jamming.
- High Breaking Resistance: Despite being designed to open easily for exit, they remain secure against external entry, with models offering between 3,300 N to 10,000 N of holding force.
- Monitoring (Model 305): Most evacuation strikes include a built-in microswitch. This allows the building’s security system to monitor whether the door is currently locked or open, which is a common requirement for emergency exit compliance.
- Durability: Tested for up to 300,000 cycles, ensuring the mechanism won’t fail due to wear and tear in high-traffic corridors.
